Salary Tier Bands
- Hyderabad advantage — KL College of Agriculture sits within India's densest agri-research cluster: ICRISAT, ICAR-IIRR, IIMR, NAARM, NIPHM and MANAGE all within an hour's drive.
- Digital-first design — PO 4 (drone/IoT/AI) and PO 10 (lifelong learning of new technologies) are anchored in Sem-IV's Agricultural Informatics & AI course and the Sem-VII Geoinformatics elective.
- Enterprise emphasis — PEO 3 and PO 5 are operationalised through 6 SEC modules (across Years 1–2), Sem-III Entrepreneurship Development, and the Sem-VIII Student READY capstone.
Thrust areas driving the programme.
Fifteen thrust areas — drawn from the Union Budget 2025-26, ICAR Sixth Deans' Committee, FAO State of Food and Agriculture 2024, CGIAR 2030 Strategy, Telangana Rythu Bharosa framework, and the Inc42 × StarAgri AgriTech Report — define what the next generation of Indian agriculture graduates will be hired to do.
- The programme privileges four force-multiplier themes: Digital/Precision Agriculture, Climate-Resilient & Natural Farming, Agri-Business & FPO ecosystems, Post-Harvest Value Chains.
- India's Digital Agriculture Mission (₹2,817 cr) and the National Mission on Natural Farming (₹2,481 cr) together signal where employment will move over the next decade.
- Telangana's Rythu Bharosa scheme and the Hyderabad cluster (ICRISAT/CRIDA/IIRR/IIMR) position KL graduates uniquely well for regional and global roles.

The job market for a 2026 agriculture graduate.
For a fresh B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture graduate, realistic starting packages are ₹3–6 LPA in the private sector (in-hand roughly ₹20,000–38,000/month) and ₹4.5–9 LPA for government-exam roles such as IBPS AFO and State ADO. The figures below are framed for freshers; where a role typically needs an M.Sc./Ph.D. or several years of experience, that is flagged explicitly. Agritech roles often add 20–30% annual increments for strong performers, so early growth can be rapid.

Pick your elective stack by career path.
Recommended combinations of Sem-VII electives, SECs and Student READY attachment, against eight major career paths. Starting points — students should refine in consultation with their faculty mentor.
Laboratory facilities, organised by lab.
Every course's practical requirements consolidated into the physical laboratories a College of Agriculture actually builds. Each facility lists the courses it serves, its consolidated equipment (sized for a batch of 60), setup and infrastructure notes, and the relevant ICAR Sixth Deans' Committee norm — covering academic, skill-development and placement purposes alike.

Ten outcomes — verbatim as approved by Dean (Quality) — describing what every graduate of the B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture programme knows, can do, and demonstrates at the point of graduation.
PEO & PO mapped to thrust areas.
The analytical core of this programme. Three matrices establish a verifiable bridge from external demand (thrust areas) to internal learning architecture (PEOs and POs). Correlation strength runs from 1 (slight) through 2 (moderate) to 3 (strong).

The programme architecture.
Four years, eight semesters, 177 credits — 167 on-campus and 10 online (NPTEL/SWAYAM/edX/Coursera). ICAR Sixth Deans' Committee curriculum with multiple entry-exit pathways as mandated by NEP-2020.
Multiple entry & exit pathway
Per NEP-2020 and NHEQF levels — students may exit with a UG-Certificate after Year 1 or a UG-Diploma after Year 2 (each requiring a 10-week, 10-credit internship), or complete the full degree.

Sem-VII Electives.
Students choose 5 of 20 elective courses (4 credits each — 3 theory + 1 practical; a few are 3 (2+1) or 2 (1+1) as noted in their detail page). The bouquet covers all major thrust areas. Click any tile to open the full ICAR syllabus.
Skill Enhancement Courses.
Students complete 6 of 17 SEC modules across Years 1 & 2. Each module is 2 credits (fully practical, 0+2). SECs are designed to embed hands-on, marketable, micro-credential-style skills into the foundation years.
Technology & tool integration.
A working catalogue of the technologies — open-source, commercial, government and research-grade — that integrate into ICAR courses to deliver Programme Outcome 4 (drone/IoT/AI) and Programme Outcome 10 (lifelong learning of frontier technologies). Each tool listed here is referenced in one or more course detail pages.
- Open the course page for any anchor course to see which of these tools are integrated in delivery.
- Domains run vertical — Crop Modelling, Geospatial, AI/ML, IoT, Drones, Lab Analytics, Breeding, Statistics, Government APIs, Carbon/MRV.
- Every tool is selected for fit with the Indian agriculture context — open-source first, with commercial alternatives noted where they dominate the job market.

MOOCs catalogue.
A curated selection of online courses to satisfy the 10-credit MOOC requirement, deepen elective specialisation, and build the technical adjacencies (data, AI, GIS) that the agriculture job market increasingly demands. Filter by provider.
- 10 credits compulsory, drawn from NPTEL / SWAYAM / edX / Coursera over Years 2–4.
- Recorded in the transcript with a "Satisfactory" remark on successful completion (per ICAR 6th Deans' Committee §4.21).
- Choose for fit with your career stack — agritech aspirants should lean on the data/AI/GIS rows; research aspirants on the breeding/biotech rows.

Global certifications for high-pay package jobs.
Unlike MOOCs, these are industry-recognised professional credentials — administered by standards bodies, government regulators, or chartered institutes. They open salary brackets that the degree alone does not, particularly for international placements, drone services, sustainability roles, and corporate-track positions.
- Salary multiplier — a CCA-certified agronomist in the US earns USD 75-110k versus USD 50-65k uncertified. A DGCA RPC holder can start earning from drone-spray services right away (typically ₹3–6 LPA plus per-acre income as a fresher).
- Entry gate for migration — Australia, Canada, NZ skilled-migration agronomist pathways are easier with CCA or PCA credentials.
- Best taken in years 3–4, alongside the matching electives. Most have a 50-100 hour study commitment and ₹15k–₹60k examination cost (varies by certification).
